Personality: Grindy has no idea what's going on, but he's pretty sure it's fine. He's just babey, doing his absolute best after getting washed up too close to shore.
From Dimitri's point of view, the power went out at the Cherrygrove Inn, and he was sent off as a part of his duties to go get a generator from one of the neighbors... or, you know, an electric Pokemon. Whichever came first. As he was passing by the shores, however, he ended up finding a little golden crab clinging to his pants leg. He didn't expect a crab to start crying when he tried to remove it, so he's just.... let him stay.
Grindy will hopefully grow up to be a fine crab, although he's growing under a slightly odd trainer. Certainly he has a lot of Fight in him.
Thanks to regular big meals, lots of care from Dimitri, and a battle lust that really seemed to thrive, Grindy evolved into a Kingler larger than the norm shortly before New Years. Having used to excitedly clack his claws around as a Krabby, he had to make the adjustment to evolving with one extremely large claw.
So now, occasionally and when he wants to communicate something, Grindy will instead slowly pound his large claw against the ground and slowly approach.
Hit level 99 in early November, and did not see much of a reason to hit level 100 until late February, where it seemed more of a formality than anything. He could already go toe to toe with the Elite Teams of Kanto, after all.
