Dean is honestly trying his best with the hand he was dealt with, which is a very confused trainer that's just... a complete mess. Which everyone is going to have to deal with. Still, Dean knows that his trainer is a good person... Just, so much. There's a lot to unpack.
Needless to say, Dean is a very responsible type who often goes to fuss over other people or pokemon, and does his best to make sure things aren't actively on fire. He'd like nothing more than to simply lay in a nice sunny spot and relax... and maybe introduce other people to such bliss as well.
He is also farsighted, which makes it a little hard for Dimitri to teach him written Fodlish.
Since Dimitri has mostly recovered, Dean now mostly helps tend to the newer members of the team, whether hatched or caught. He also keeps an eye on making sure Dimitri keeps up with three meals a day and actually going to sleep. Sometimes he helps with Dimitri's romantic life, too. This is a pig that can do everything.
Evolved into a Pignite on November 27. Evolved into an Emboar the day after Christmas, to Dimitri's pleasant surprise.

One day Gremlin just tried to start some shit with a Tepig that looked like it was scoping out his local berry tree, and the next thing he knows, he's been hauled up by a guy wearing actual plate armor and, you know what? He can respect that.
Gremlin is basically a small dog pokemon inside a large purple rat's body. He's very confident in how he can take on the entire world, except when you actually ask him to do that, in which case he soon realizes things are in fact Bad. There's a lot of energy in that little purple body, and so he constantly needs to be doing something.
This often has to do with nibbling the ends of Dimitri's hair. So far, he has not been stopped on this matter.
Loves gaming, and new experiences, and has found being a trained pokemon Pretty Neat. Throwable.
The first to reach level 100, and proud of that.
Was given Cut and Thunder by Felix for Xmas 2022, because of course he was. Claude got him Captivate for the web content.

Fowi was the first really tough opponent that Dean ever fought properly - you know, with actual instructions given by a trainer, instead of Dimitri just pointing out issues in the battle or, worse, Dimitri flinging himself at a Pokemon himself.
She thus tends to respect the pig more than the man.... but she knows that there has to be a reason why Dean is so determined to stick by Dimitri's side, so she's willing to go along with everything for the time being.
Otherwise, she's a fairly solemn creature who holds herself with a regal air befitting her lion appearance.
Evolved into Luxio shortly before Halloween. Evolved into Luxray on the way to Union Cave, after training with Felix.

Personality: Grindy has no idea what's going on, but he's pretty sure it's fine. He's just babey, doing his absolute best after getting washed up too close to shore.
From Dimitri's point of view, the power went out at the Cherrygrove Inn, and he was sent off as a part of his duties to go get a generator from one of the neighbors... or, you know, an electric Pokemon. Whichever came first. As he was passing by the shores, however, he ended up finding a little golden crab clinging to his pants leg. He didn't expect a crab to start crying when he tried to remove it, so he's just.... let him stay.
Grindy will hopefully grow up to be a fine crab, although he's growing under a slightly odd trainer. Certainly he has a lot of Fight in him.
Thanks to regular big meals, lots of care from Dimitri, and a battle lust that really seemed to thrive, Grindy evolved into a Kingler larger than the norm shortly before New Years. Having used to excitedly clack his claws around as a Krabby, he had to make the adjustment to evolving with one extremely large claw.
So now, occasionally and when he wants to communicate something, Grindy will instead slowly pound his large claw against the ground and slowly approach.
The battle lust has not gone down any.
He does love Karimala very much, however.
Hit level 99 in early November, and did not see much of a reason to hit level 100 until late February, where it seemed more of a formality than anything. He could already go toe to toe with the Elite Teams of Kanto, after all.

Personality: Unlike some absolute weirdos in Dimitri's troupe, Elshot got caught the old fashion way: he started shit with Dimitri while the group was making their way from Cherrygrove, and he got beat in a battle.
Elshot doesn't view this as a particularly bad or bewildering thing. He can respect an upfront fighter, and it's very clear that Dimitri can't be anything else but that. He's a rather straightforward type himself, when all is said and done.
He evolved into a Pidgeotto on a trip to deliver Jack (Not Handsome) some alcohol, the day before Felix and Sylvain made it back to Violet City.
Hit Level 100 during 2022 Pride month, like the absolute best boy.

Kent is a purely nocturnal kind of creature, which is absolutely unsurprising to anyone that knows anyone about Munna. He wasn't expecting to be swept up by Grant, and he certainly wasn't expecting to be gifted to someone who has very clearly not been sleeping for a very long time.
Dimitri's constant string of nightmares means that, technically, Kent is never lacking for food when he wakes up at night. However, such constant nightmares from one single human makes him incredibly worried. He's not sure how much he can help... but Kent actually feels useful for once as he can solve this problem. It's a strange feeling.
Can laugh like a human person. No one knows how.

But that was a bit of a problem as he grew up on his particular route, with other Pokemon being able to beat him quite frequently. In fact, he was being harassed one night by a couple of Hoothoot. He was trying to beat them off...
And then a tall viking man barreled through, threw some things at them, and hissed.
On the night that he was chasing after Sylvain after the now notorious Mistletoe Incident (tm), Dimitri stumbled over this scene as he was searching out his friend. Maybe a little frustrated, he lost his temper at some birds. When he turned around... A Nidoran was staring up at him with stars in his little eyes.
Lavellan is an excitable creature - the Pokemon equivalent of a himbo. He's excited to make himself stronger, and doesn't think too much more on the finer details. But that's fine! His trainer is super strong now, so he'll definitely succeed now!
Evolved into a Nidorino shortly before New Years. Evolved into a Nidoking in late March, after a flower viewing picnic. He's really excited about this fact, and super excited about how strong he and his trainer are now.

Personality: For such an enormous creature, Cobly is rather careful of how she exists in comparison to the rest of the world. Union Caves might be big, but the average Gligar sure isn't. Because of that, she's rather kept away from battling in her native caves.
So when Dimitri sent up the world's Tiniest Krabby to go up against her, she rather panicked... and then was sound beat, thanks to type and level differences.
Dimitri is going to work on helping her find her place in the world.... literally. He rather sympathizes with her, and talks to her gently about his own troubles.
After a good couple of years, she finally has become confident enough to take the plunge, and has evolved. She's still as delicate and shy as ever, however.

Personality: An odd duck, Karimala is mostly preoccupied with singing, and has grown to the level she was initially captured at simply because other Pokemon would interrupt her. She was expecting much of the same when a Krabby splashed over to her... but instead, Grindy the Krabby just wanted to enjoy the song.
...so much so that it became a problem, and Dimitri almost dove into the water to go fetch his crab.
Instead, Grant's Ducklett Hara paddled off to get Grindy, and Karimala tagged along with when she could hear the distant sounds of distress that was Dimitri and Grant's relationship conversation. After hearing good things about Dimitri, and watching the pair care about each other... Well, it didn't take long for her to decide that it wouldn't be a bad idea to follow after Grindy too. She loves him very much, after all, and following him doesn't seem like a terrible idea.

A battle where Dimitri almost lost them because they rolled down a path slightly in their tussling.
Shuck is like any other puppy, really, in that she has to do So Much! Or else, well... Disaster happens. Still, with Dimitri's team, there's always something to do, especially with new best friend Gremlin.
Since evolving shortly before the New Year, she seems to have settled down a little bit... But this is only with the guarantee that Dimitri takes her out training or running. Otherwise, she becomes quite the unruly puppy once again.

Ultimately, she's happy to progress through the world at her own pace, and mind her own business.
...For the most part, anyway, considering her little Dedenne friend.
In the middle of January, she evolved to a fully evolved and powerful Mudsdale. It's fortunate she already had a rather calm disposition, not letting this change in stature change much about her own actions, and she was one of those who helped take Eri back from Olivine to the home in Kanto.

Maybe it's thinking he was hot shit and then got smacked down by a girl - in this case, Fowi.
Galloway has been in love ever since. Time will tell if that goes anywhere.
Evolved at the very end of July 2021, right before Sylvain disappeared on the first of August. The joy of finally getting to be (vaguely) on Fowi's level clashed against Sylvain leaving Johto - someone Galloway had been distantly fond of as a fellow redhead. It seems to have sombered up the lion, and he's become more contemplative instead of arrogant as he's tried to decide what he really wants to do with this newfound evolutionary strength.

Personality: Having been born surrounded by some already rather impressive fighters like Dean the Emboar, Gwin was almost determined the second he hatched to catch up. It's hard to say if he's interested in fighting so much as he wants to stand side by side with all the other Pokemon who he's grown up with and that count as his family....
Despite this, he still manages to seem friendly enough, and is incredibly attached to his "sister", Gabby. One of his joys in life seems to be gathering fruit up into his mouth (grapes and berries preferred) and just doing a Squish.
Evolved the week after Prom (2020), with Dimitri frantically yelling for Claude the entire time.
Reached level 100 at the beginning of October, around a year since Dimitri first arrived in Johto. Dimitri is quietly pleased about this fact, because it feels as though it means something. Gwin, in the meanwhile, is just happy he's the strongest he can be.

Personality: Unlike Adar, Gaibhenenn (Gabby for short) is less inclined towards the battle scene, although she does like to make Dimitri happy and protect people so she's determined to keep up on training. She much prefers looking after eggs (like she did for a short while with Adar's), and is pleased at the idea of cooking food alongside Dimitri.
Seeing Whitney's Miltank in action has gone a long way to making her excited at the prospect of getting stronger, and that it's not something so frightening after all.
She's a big girl now, who is very glad that she can make milk to help feed and love the ones she cares about. However, to her disappointment, she's still too young to take part in the gym battles that Dimitri is at the level for. Soon!
That "soon" came sometime after her battle against the Fletcher Gym, and hit its peak when her and her family bullied the shit out of some cultists. She's a big girl now!

Personality: Hugo is the kind of Pokemon who refuses to back down from any challenge... no matter how stupid. It's how Dimitri found him while the gang was making their way through Ilex Forest... in the middle of winter... during a blizzard. You'd think a Pokemon weak to Ice would know better, but Hugo is determined to make up for all his short comings.
Still, that weakened state made it easy for Dimitri's rat hoard to take him down. Hugo doesn't mind. Joining Dimitri's team allowed him to evolve, after all. Now it's just a matter of improving even more.
Time will tell if he subjects himself to more stupid challenges in the name of self improvement, especially since his sense of humor isn't really geared like most people's.
Evolved into his final form of a Chestnaught during the beginning of October 2021, which lead to much rejoicing between him and Santa.

Personality: Dimitri's initial run-in with Agnes was when he went to the Safari Zone while waiting for his ride back from the Riegfried and Soy cooking contest. This large mammalian Kangaskhan took one look at this man's sleep deprived eyes and just walked over, ignoring all rocks, and tried to forcefully make him go to sleep.
So that was a thing.
Agnes has the weary patience of a mother who has done this Many Times Before, and thinks her time is rather done. Having sent her latest baby into the world, she's decided that will be the last one for a while. Instead, now lacking a child in her pouch, she's decided that she wants to enjoy her life a little more after having provided the Safari Zone with many a child.
And what better trainer to go with than this handsome young man who clearly needs someone to watch over him anyway?

....is what Santa thought when he was just a lone Zigzagoon in the Safari Zone, competing with all of his kin and more than a few other types of Pokemon. He was prepared to be very much the same when he was finally caught by a strange human with only one eye.
Except... Then the human started to speak in a soft voice to him. And praise his pretty fur. And tell him how he was just like another creature - an Obstagoon! - who once helped him very much, and the human was so sure that Santa was going to be a wonderful partner as well.
Santa has never been praised this much in his life.
He's still recovering.
Whenever he's with other people on his own, he's still this loud little terror that will nip at heels, but around Dimitri? It's like he's an entirely different Pokemon. Domestication is amazing.
As of August 2021, determined to become strong enough to fuck up a Cramorant. Has bonded, surprisingly, with Hugo the Quilladin, although has a fierce rivalry with Maelor the Pangoro, who evolved before him.
Evolved in the middle of August, and screamed loud enough in joy to ruin even Fraldariend's moment of reaching Level 100. He now views himself as Dimitri's bodyguard, and still tries to make himself a lap pokemon. Dimitri doesn't have the heart to refuse him.

Evolved in late March of 2021, shortly before the MooMoo Farms running of the bulls, and was promptly taught Pay Day. Having been told that this is a very important skill and duty for an important dream has made him dial back some of his obnoxiousness, because now he feels he needs to live up to these expectations.
Was the third of Dimitri's Pokemon to reach level 100, around the middle of August 2021. This has once again boosted up his ego.

Personality: All Joana wanted to do was nap away from the hustle and bustle of the weekly Bug Catching Tournament. To that end, she thought herself to be rather clever to sneak into the cooler of some sleigh or another that had stopped at the park. It was winter; it would probably stay still long enough for her to get a quick nap in, right?
Unfortunately for Joana, that was around the time that Gabby the Miltank decided she wanted to fetch something from the cooler, and, well, one battle against a very insistent baby later...
Joana has a lot of righteousness in her, and a lot of smarts. Mostly, however, as a tiny bug, she just wants to nap. Unfortunately for her, she might not always get that.
Since evolving shortly after the Fourth Wall of early 2021, all that energy she's been storing finally seems to be getting put to use. She's now much more active, and has no shame in sneaking off to overlook whatever place the gang is currently traveling to so that she can see just how 'just' a city really is. She's a big defender of 'the little guy', and won't let anyone get away with any bullshit.

Personality: Extremely clingy and extremely shy, she only had a short while to get attached to her trainer before he suddenly vanished. She's since been picked up by Dimitri, who has been treasuring her greatly and keeping her close. Both of them can deal with Dedue's (temporary, hopefully) loss together.
Besides Dimitri, she tends to get along best with Pokemon instead of humans, and is very slow to get to know people.
She evolved during Pride Month, 2021, and both of them spent fifteen minutes together crying because they missed Dedue.
Returned to her true owner in late July when Dedue came back.
